Leena Salminen is a principal leader of this project: “New Nurse Educator”. She is a professor area of health pedagogy at the University of Turku, Department of Nursing Science and responsible for nurse and health care educator education and training. Her main research areas are the competence of nurse educators and the learning outcomes of health care students and education. She is also interested in how different generations experience the society and what and how they think about teaching and learning.

She has a long career as an educator in nurse and healthcare education and in nursing science at the university level. Her main teaching areas are pedagogic and didactic solutions in health care education, digital learning environments and supervising the doctoral dissertations and master thesis. She has published about 90 scientific articles and a lot of different kind of material for using in health care educator education.

Imane Elonen MNSc, RN. Imane works as a project researcher in the New Nurse Educator project. She has worked in the depatment of Nursing Science at the University of Turku since 2018 in different projects, first as a project assistant and later as a project researcher.

In nursing her background is in neonatal intensive care and she has worked in 7 neonatal units in Europe. She has also worked as a nurse educator.
